I started this post yesterday and then experienced some computer problems so I'll try again today.  It's only been a little over a month since my last post so I'm doing pretty good this year, about once a month!  Not sure if I mentioned before, but my oldest daughter is pregnant and almost 4 months along now.  I wanted to make something just for her to remember this time since soon everything will be all about the baby.  Well, this is a bit too, but mainly it is for her memories.  So I made a pregnancy journal.

I'm going to include a few photos of various pages.  Remember most are not filled in, because this is for her to add her memories and keep track of things.

I had fun making this and I plan to make more sticker type mats and sayings so she can easily add to it.  Thanks for looking.

New Baby card

Hey!  It's less than a month and I'm back.   Today I am sharing a new Baby card that I just mailed out with a present today.  It's a pretty simple card.  It is from a file from the Silhouette store and I added a few of my own touches to it.

I added the stitching on the onesies and the edges of the white layer and then I added the twine for a clothesline.  I also added the rhinestones and the layer on the inside of the card that hangs our from the bottom of the card.  I thought that would make it a bit different and then the white would show through the holes in the front of the card.  Plus I stamped on the inside!  Like I said, it was simple but I had fun.

Also, sorry they are a bit crooked but I've been having problems scanning straight lately.  I scanned one card at least 10 times trying to get it to look straight!

Hope everyone has a Happy Father's Day!  I haven't made the card for that yet, either.  I guess it is because we gave him his gift a month ago.  Got him some computer program he wanted that cost and arm and a leg!
LOL it was way more than my Designer edition of the silhouette program.  LOL

3 days in a row!

Wow!  Look at me, posting 3 days in a row!  Just thought I'd put up the card I've made for the next wedding.  In fairness, I must say that I started out copying a sample from the Impression Obsession booth
at a convention.  But, as usual I didn't have all of the exact supplies they did and I didn't want certain parts
of their design, so this is what I came up with instead.  Similar but not exactly the same.  Using that metallic
foil paper, not all of the layer shows up in the photo.  The top edge kind of disappears and one side of the
bow looks larger than the other, but it really isn't.

found a photo of my first box card!

I just found this photo of the first box card that I ever made!  I think I mentioned in my last post that each
box card I make, I seem to add more embellishments to it.  If you look at the two that I posted yesterday, this one is very un-embellished although at the time I only thought it was a little underembellished.   I forgot that I used teh decorative paper on the inside layers too!  That kind of makes up for the missing embellishments.  LOL

Just checking in and sharing a little

Well, I'm back again.  Maybe I'll try posting once every 4 months! LOL  Summer is starting to hit here in Michigan.  The weather is beautiful so far and I hope to open the pool tomorrow.

I've made a couple of the new box cards that seem to be all the rage.  I'll include a couple of photos for your viewing pleasure.  One of the things that I am noticing is that I seem to add a little bit more to each successive box card that I make so I wonder what they will look like by the time I get to the 10th or 15th one?  LOL

Love the way these cards fold up and fit in a regular envelope.  I hope to try making a little larger one soon.
Happy Memorial Day everyone and please appreciate & pray for all the Veteran's that have died for us and our country.

Time to add a few more cards that I have received!

Well at least I haven't been away so long this time.  We are in the middle of the latest polar Vortex so I'm keeping warm working in the house.  The mail lately brought me a few more birthday cards and I am sharing them here.
From Paula P. is the top blue card.  I love that Swiss Dots embossing folder, it is my all time favorite!  The second card is from Barbara H. and I love that punch she used and have never seen it before!
Last one for today is this spunky little gal from Holly Y.  Great layering too!  Wow, I hit some key and thought I lost this post.  Glad that I was able to find it but I need to go work on dinner now.  Enjoy the snow everyone!

I'm on a roll with posting

Just want to post a couple of the wonderful early Birthday cards that I received yesterday from Karen B. and Toni P.   Thank you ladies for brightening my mailbox.

Karen sent me the Birday card and I love that embossed background!
Toni sent me the Thinking of you card with Birthday wishes inside.
What fun cards they are!

After receiving the cards in our late day mail we took off to join in the fun at the last Christmas party of the season, it's a White Elephant party and lots of fun!

Happy Birthday to me!

Well it is not really my Birthday yet, it's not until the end of the month, but yesterday I received a delightful collage style Birthday card from Lou Ann Leonard and I wanted to share it here with you today.  It is my very first Birthday card!

Enjoy this great use of the Sizzix Tim Holtz view master wheel die!

Wedding Card

Thought I'd try to post a little more often.  Let me see if I still have the photo of the card that I made for my daughter's wedding.  I was really happy with it and so was she.

This card was made of a pearlized white cardstock and I adhered a layer of vellum like paper that has the soft floral design and glitter already in it.  Next I used a Spellbinder die to cut the frame our of the same pearlized cardstock and the bells from the Cricut cartridge "Wrap it Up".  I pop dotted parts of the bells and extra parts of the ribbon so it had a couple different heights.   Next I added some sprigs of pearls and flowers from the floral department and finished it off with half pearls outlining the bell opening and on the bow of the paper ribbon.

If I can find a photo of her shower invite, I'll add that later.

It's been awhile...

I can't believe it, it's been almost a year since I've posted.  I just wrote a long post and then didn't save it so it disappeared!  Last time I posted it was with snow pictures and guess what?  It snowed again!  I measured the snow in my backyard at night and it was over 14 inches!  Then it snowed through the night.  The weatherman didn't say it was that deep, but it was in my yard.  Here's the same patio table..

Well, most of last year was taken up with my daughter's wedding.  we made several trips to the East coast for shopping, the engagement party, a shower, and the wedding.
It was all amazing!

Another amazing thing from last year is that my hubby gave me a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas!  I am definitely a newbie at it and have a lot of learning to do before I will be showing much on here but I will.

On a sad note, my MIL/Martha passed away on Dec. 19, 2013.  She will be missed and this has made a BIG change in my life and routines.  This is one of the last photos taken of her.  It was taken at my daughter's wedding shower.  The lovely bride standing in the back is Miranda and the maid of honor is my other lovely daughter, Christina.  Those were happy times for all and Grandma's presence will be remembered fondly.
